Pharmacy - drug interactions

Expert: Barbara Judge - 5/14/2007

Question
Which of these drugs does propoxy-n/apap interact with?
The two drugs are cyclobenzaprine or methylprednisolone.

Answer
There are no documented drug interactions between propoxyphene n/APAP and methylprednisolone.  There are no true drug interactions between propoxyphene and cyclobenzaprene, but taking them together will most likely cause a worsening of the CNS side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision.  These effects are often additive when taking one or more drugs causing similar effects.  If taking them alone or together I would avoid driving or any other activity requiring alertness to avoid injury to yourself or others.

Thanks.
