I am began taking Amox TR-K CLV 825-125mg today and I am getting an outbreak on my mouth is it ok to take Valtrex and the antibiotic together?
Hi Michelle,
Valtrex is not a very safe drug and it is not required for a simple thrush that occurs following an antibiotic. Nystatin and miconazole are safer alternatives. I would suggest you talk to your chemist for an OTC preparation of these and try that. In most cases an antiseptic mouth wash will do the job.
