Hi. I take zyrtec and effexor and the same exact thing happens to me when I forget to take my pills in the morning. By late afternoon I am sick to my stomach and dizzy. About one hour after I take my pills I feel better. I had always assumed it was the effexor, then today I stopped taking the zyrtec and I am feeling the same lousy way! I think I am going to try and ride it out.

I have been on zyrtec for about 4 years and recently tried to substitute taking my zyrtec for a natural remedy. The withdrawal symptoms were dizziness, headaches, nausea, insomnia, fatigue, mood swings and an overall unstable feeling. It was so bad I took a dose and made an appointment to discuss this with my doctor. These symptoms are real and zyrtec should be labeled as a habit forming drug. Good luck

Christine,
I found your Zyrtec problem while searching Google for this exact problem. I am 25 years old, and have been on Zyrtec D for the better part of ten years. If I miss a day or fill my prescription late, I am hit by horrible nausea and dizziness allowing me to do little else but lay around. When I get the medicine in me again, I'm immediately fine. Thanks for letting me know that this is a real problem and that I'm not the only one. It stinks, though!

Zyrtec Withdrawal is indeed real.
Really intense unbearable itching, insomnia, back/neck aches, sinusitus, mood disturbances are just a few problems.

People have great difficulty getting off Zyrtec, and mistakenly think their symptoms are worsening when they miss a tablet. This is not the case, they are suffering Zyrtec Withdrawal.

I have tried to stop Zyrtec ( a generic kind) for several months now. Once I get to the third day I'm a mess with dizziness, nausea, headache and general fatigue. I am also taking Cymbalta and Wellbutrin. THe mixture of the meds seems to be very bad for me. Good luck to you and if you figure anything out post it here!
