Question Can you use hydrogen peroxide during pregnancy? I just want to clean out a small cut. I can't find information about it.
Thanks.
Answer Hi Sue,
Thanks for your question. Hydrogen peroxide has been used as an antiseptic and anti-bacterial agent for many years. It is still used by many hospitals, doctors and dentists in sterilizing, cleaning and treating everything from floors to root canal procedures.
There are no known harmful effects identified when hydrogen peroxide was used by pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. When used topically, like to clean out a small cut, systemic absorption is negligible, therefore, it should not affect your baby.
Good Luck with your pregnancy! Please feel free to follow up with any questions that you may have.
