Pharmacy - identify pill

Expert: Dr. Ravindra Bhaskar Ghooi - 6/27/2007

Question
I took some of my pills out of the bottle and put them in one to make carrying them in my bag easier.  Now I can't remember which pills are which...I have tiny white pills that are scored and have a R on the top and a 5 under it...I believe it is oxycodone from my neck injury but I'm not sure.

Answer
Hi Diane,
Oxycodone made by Mallinkrodt has the numerical 5 on it, but does not have the R. I have been unable to find any preparation of oxycodone (there are about 20) with an R on it. Other databases like the one of RX list does not describe such a tablet. Hence I regret my inability to hep you.
