Question
QUESTION: hi im 24 and take a lot of medications

i take:

warfarin
quetiapine
escitalipram
ventolin
flixotide
serevent
uniphyllin
adcal d3 forte

im worried about the effect they are having on me. i get a lot of little things, like pains in joints, upset stomachs, feeling sick, spacey and dizzy.

ANSWER: Hi Niki,
Have you spoken to your doctor about the effects you may be having form these medications?
Can you tell me what your medical condtion(s) are?
I can tell from the medications, but I would like you to confirm first. For your age it seems you have some serious health problems. I would like to know what they are to assess the appropriateness of the medications.
All medications have some side effects, but not all may be necessary which can reduce the likelihood of side effects.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
Eric Brandt, B.Sc. Pharm

QUESTION: hi, yeah i spend a lot of time at the hospital. i hed a pulminary embolism in november, and then another PE in january. i also have clinical depression, OCD. severe asthma and osteoporosis.

thanks for the reply.

Answer
Hi Niki,
Ok, now I have better picture. Do you have blood tests to minitor that your heophyllin is within therpaeutic level?
Elevated theophyllin level may be responsible for some the effects you are experiencing.
It is unusual to see PE in a 24 tear old. Did you doctor tell you what your risk factors are and how you can prevent this from recurring?
Otherwise your medications sseem appropriate. THere may be some fine tunig in doses that could be dose but you need to see your doctor about those.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely
Eric Brandt, B.Sc. Pharm
