Question I have been on 15 mg mobic/day for 2 weeks,I have a wedding to attend and am wondering if I should not take the mobic for a day or 2 around the function date, due to the fact I will indulge in alcohol.
Answer Drinking alcohol while taking Mobic may increase the risk of gastric bleeding and stomach upset. If you stop taking Mobic for a couple of days this risk would lessen, but you would also interfere with the anti-inflammatory action you hope to gain from taking Mobic. To get the best response from Mobic it needs to be taken on a daily basis for 3 to 4 weeks. You need to decide which is most important to you, the relief from pain and discomfort which lead to your prescription of Mobic or your desire to consume alcohol and its potential risk, primarily to your stomach.
