Question I was in to see the doctor today and had a scope but down my throat. The doctor took pictures of several locations and said that I had several small ulcers in the stomic and esophigas. He told me to take 40mg NEXIUM tabs 2 times a day 30 minuits before meals. When I got home I read the patient information and it said 1 tab daily 1 hour before meals. My question which do I follow the Doctor or the printed info that came with NEXIUM.
Thank You
Debra
Answer Dear DJ Bauer
It does not really matter whether the tabs are taken 1h or 30 minutes before a meal. Do whatever is most convenient but it is preferable to use either ie always 1h or always 30 min.
Occasionally the dose is doubled for short periods of no longer than 7 days and the the dose is decreased to as said on the package insert. I would do what your doctor prescribed but if you are taking the tablets like this for more than 7 days, check with your prescriber.
