Micardis is Telmisartan, while Cozaar is losartan. Losartan is the prototype of Angiotensin receptor antagonist while telmisartan is the latest in this series. Obviously telmi has significant advantages over losartan. The main advantage is on efficacy where telmi produces a more consistent and long standing drop in BP compared to losartan. There is a superior adverse event profile too. I would suggest you look at Pubmed for specific trials in which the advantages have been demonstrated.
