Question
Can paresthesia include abnormal temperature sensations?  When I touch anything warmer than room temp with my hands, ie; water, food, it feels like I'm sticking my hand in a fire.... same with my feet....  it's almost unbearable....  I'm taking 60 mg of Cymbalta in the AM and 50 mg Vistaril PRN QID   It's SO horrible and I hate it.....

Answer
Hi Amanda,
Paresthesia is more like tingling and numbness. What you are experiencing is called hyperalgesia- an axagerated response to stimuli that normally do not cause as much discomfort as is felt. This can be caused by nerve damage.
I can not attribute this to either medication. Please see your doctor for an assessment.
Thank you for using Allexperts
