Pharmacy - side effects

Expert: Barbara Judge - 1/18/2007

Question
Can you tell me if any research has ever been done to determine which are the most common side effects of prescription drugs (such as nausea, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, etc.). Thank you very much. Al Brown

Answer
Studies are done on each drug individually, but to my knowledge no study has be done or no attempt has been made to research all the drug information available to determine which drug side effects are most common in general for all prescription drugs.  It would take huge amounts of time to review all the drugs ever approved and combine the data to find the correct answer to you which side effects are most frequently reported.

Thanks

Barb Judge
