Question
Can you tell me if any research has ever been done to determine which are the most common side effects (such as nausea, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, etc.) of prescription drugs. Thank you very much. Al Brown
Dear Al
Research is normally done on a drug by drug basis. Certain classes or types of drugs are more likely to cause certain side effects, i.e. a class of drugs called Benzodiazipines are likely to cause drowsiness and others may cause gastric side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea etc. In my experience with side effects I can say the most common side effects are of the Gastric kind which include the above symptoms.
