Philippines - visa upon arrival

Expert: Eric J Douglas - 11/18/2008

Question
I'm leaving for the Philippines on November 27th, which means in a week. I don't have a visa because this is a very last minute trip and it wasn't planned. I'm going to stay for 25 days, which is longer than what we're allowed to, as Canadian citizens. I wonder if I can extend my visa AT THE AIRPORT, or do I have to get in Metro Manila first, and THEN extend my visa?
Thank you very much!

Answer
Hello,
As a canadian citizen you can obtain a visa at the airport for 3 week. you can then go some time afterward to the immigration office and ask for a 3 month extension. The immigration offices are in any city that has an international airport. I have been told by other that you can extand at the airport, but I have no information about that.

Eric
