AboutBill and Lorna Collings Expertise Feel FREE to ask us about traveling, living, relocating, retiring and investing in the Philippines. Guests from 83 countries make our place in Manila an incredible meeting place for world travelers who exchange travel stories and information. We understand both the joys and the hardships of living and traveling in the Philippines.
Experience I arrived in the Philippines in January 1980 to travel for 2 months; I stayed 4 months before reluctantly leaving. I met my Filipina wife, Lorna. an incredible stellar, "one in a million" individual in 1983 in Seoul and we moved to the Philippines in 1986 and opened our 3BR house to world travelers on a budget. After welcoming thousands of guests from 83 nations our place has grown to 30 bedrooms but will never lose its "Home away from Home" atmosphere. Almost everyday at The Townhouse Hotel there's a party-like social scene with vibrant, almost magical energetic conversations between our guests who have the pleasure to meet each other and share their life's many experiences. Sometimes. three groups with conversations in different langauges are going on at the same time.
So we've been exposed to every kind of person from all over the world and shared their experiences.

Question Hi again Bill & Lorna!! Well I'm getting ready to head back to my wife and son in Manila next week for a year. I AM SOOO EXCITED!!! But I was just wondering, will you tell me step by step , form by form, what I need to file to bring my wife to U.S.?? Since we are getting a immigrate visa, I know the 1st one is the I-130, the petition.. and if they have consular post at the embassy to file it their, that it has to be filed here in states? but after that, what are the forms in order I have to file, and how long of a process does this take? I know after the I-130 is filed and approved, I can filed a K-3 to bring her to states and wait out the process.. Again THANK YOU for your time!!! and if I have anothe question I know who to ask...
Answer It's a tedious long process and the BEST source for such information is another website and yahoogroup called MAG-ANAK so type that in at http://www.google.com and you will find ALL the details you are looking for with OVER 2000 members happy to help you and answer your specific questions. Many members are at various stages of the immigrant visa application process for their Filipina wives so can provide you with not only the updated INFO but their PERSONAL experiences.
Plan on this process taking 6 months up to one or two years; the USA immigration "red tape" paperwork requirement is growing along with hundreds of other restrictions like Homeland "Security" etc. etc. I also have a yahoogroup you may want to join as one regular member JAMES from Louisiana is in the process of getting his wife from Mindanao her visa since last year. Go to GROUPS on http://www.yahoo.com then type in lifeinthephilippines
I know I didn't answer you exact question but these things are changing rapidly so it's best to check with people IN THE Visa Application PIPELINE; my wif eand I have been married going on 25 years so my personal experiences are outdated.
