About Bill and Lorna Collings
Expertise
Feel FREE to ask us about traveling, living, relocating, retiring and investing in the Philippines. Guests from 83 countries make our place in Manila an incredible meeting place for world travelers who exchange travel stories and information. We understand both the joys and the hardships of living and traveling in the Philippines.

Experience
I arrived in the Philippines in January 1980 to travel for 2 months; I stayed 4 months before reluctantly leaving. I met my Filipina wife, Lorna. an incredible stellar, "one in a million" individual in 1983 in Seoul and we moved to the Philippines in 1986 and opened our 3BR house to world travelers on a budget. After welcoming thousands of guests from 83 nations our place has grown to 30 bedrooms but will never lose its "Home away from Home" atmosphere. Almost everyday at The Townhouse Hotel there's a party-like social scene with vibrant, almost magical energetic conversations between our guests who have the pleasure to meet each other and share their life's many experiences. Sometimes. three groups with conversations in different langauges are going on at the same time.
So we've been exposed to every kind of person from all over the world and shared their experiences.

Question
Hi Bill and Lorna,

I want to open a chiropractic office in either cebu or Manila, I have a MD
friend who is going to sponsor me and be a partner, I love borocay, but
considered Cebu since it has a larger population.  I now Dr. Camera has
offices in Cebu and Makati. I'm more into Cebu than considering Manila, areas
like QC

Salamat Po

Answer
Hi Dr. Bob, Small World! We already have a Dr. Bob from Oregon ( originally Manhattan ), a Chinese Herbal Medicine practioner and Acupuncturist renting our two 2nd floor beachfront units facing the sea on a yearly basis. He and his young Filipina wife live in one and the other one is his office with massage table etc.

Boracay is also a good choice but it's too early as the few thousand condo units are under construction or in the process of being marketed so the foreign resident population is NOT sufficient as you have surmised.

In regards to Cebu City as a demographic area for opening a Chiropractic office which I guess is your question I couldn't really tell you as it would require a daily investigation, calling for appointments and visiting each and every chiropractor or similar alternative medicine or health spa treatment location in Cebu City area. So go there follow the abouve advice just like anyone would do when thinking about opening ANY kind of small business. Remember it's NOT the POPULATION NUMBERS you need to consider it's ONLY the HIGH INCOME Local, foreign and aging demographic you are interested in and must realize there is NO SOURCE of valid INFo other than wearing out your own personal shoe leather looking around. GOOD LUCK! Bill and Lorna
