About Nilesh Korgaokar
Expertise
I can answer questions regarding travel to the Philippines for both business and leisure. Anybody wanting to know the best beaches, archipelagos, coral reefs, dive sites, island resorts, including cheap flights etc. Please note that I DO NOT have any experience or expertise in setting up a business in the Philippines or what are the procedures that one needs to follow if you want to get married to a local Filipino. I also DO NOT have any information about how to apply for a visa. For such questions it is best that you approach the local Philippine Embassy in your own country and enquire there.

Experience
I travel often to the country on business and when here for longer periods never miss an opportunity to explore the country's hidden treasures - mostly the beaches and dive sites.

Expert: Nilesh Korgaokar - 10/27/2009

Question
I have been talking to my Filipina girl for almost 3 years , we have never met, but that does not make our love any less real or true. I want to bring her to UK so we can marry and live here, we are desperate to be together. I am only receiving Disability Pension so I am not a wealthy man, but again this does not make love less true.I do not know where to start, I am totally clueless but desperate...what do you advise, what steps etc do I take?

Answer
Hello Alan,

I'm not an expert on this subject but I can only suggest. Maybe the best place to begin would be the Philippines Embassy in the UK and ask them what your girlfriend needs to do in order to secure a passage to the UK. At the same time she could also make some enquiries with the British Embassy in the Philippines and find out what she has to do to come to the UK to meet with you.

Here are some websites that may be useful and helpful [

The UK seems to have many consulates in the Philippines apart from an Embassy in Manila. So if your girlfriend is not in Manila it may be useful.

Hope this helps and all the best in your quest to get your girlfriend to the UK.
Nilesh.
