Experience I arrived in the Philippines in January 1980 to travel for 2 months; I stayed 4 months before reluctantly leaving. I met my Filipina wife, Lorna. an incredible stellar, "one in a million" individual in 1983 in Seoul and we moved to the Philippines in 1986 and opened our 3BR house to world travelers on a budget. After welcoming thousands of guests from 83 nations our place has grown to 30 bedrooms but will never lose its "Home away from Home" atmosphere. Almost everyday at The Townhouse Hotel there's a party-like social scene with vibrant, almost magical energetic conversations between our guests who have the pleasure to meet each other and share their life's many experiences. Question I'm holding 9F for my master's program in manila. And I'm planning to apply for fulltime lecturer position in the same college. What type of visa do I have to get for the job? Does a full-time college lecturer require 9g working visa?
Answer You can try the working visa but it's difficlt to obtain as an individual as mostly the employers obtain such work visas. If you're over 35 then you can apply for a SRRV which allows the foreign residents to work and operate small businesses. I doubt very much that the immigration or police would bother a professor about his visa status but obviously since you asked you must e concerned. So to set you own mind at ease and protect you from an others who may choose to use this as an issue then go ahead and get a proper SRRV.
