Experience I arrived in the Philippines in January 1980 to travel for 2 months; I stayed 4 months before reluctantly leaving. I met my Filipina wife, Lorna. an incredible stellar, "one in a million" individual in 1983 in Seoul and we moved to the Philippines in 1986 and opened our 3BR house to world travelers on a budget. After welcoming thousands of guests from 83 nations our place has grown to 30 bedrooms but will never lose its "Home away from Home" atmosphere. Almost everyday at The Townhouse Hotel there's a party-like social scene with vibrant, almost magical energetic conversations between our guests who have the pleasure to meet each other and share their life's many experiences. Sometimes. three groups with conversations in different langauges are going on at the same time.

Do I need to secure a police clearance in the USA where I presently live or can that be done in the Philippines. Do you know what the steps are to secure a police clearance. Thank You! Doug
Answer Doug, Last year a friend of mine who's a real estate broker in southern California did me a favor and was able to get a criminal report status on somebody for me on-line in a very short time. Maybe that's all you need to do just to show you are are free of any type warrant for your arrest or have a clean no former arrest record. Actually this is the FIRST time anyone has EVER mentioned this question so could you tell me why? Is this a new requirement by the Philippines or USA government to add more red tape to the immigration or USA Filipino marriage visa process?
I know that an NBI ( National Bureau of Investigation ) clearance is necessary for Filipinos before applying for a passport or USA visa application but never heard of an American passport holder being required of such a clearance; are you sure you need it?
