The name of this fear of little people/dwarfs is Nanosophobia.

I am researching this myself b/c my daughter is terrified of them. She is 12 and just yesterday we were at her sister's basketball game and a male little person - young boy came in the gym and was 10 feet away and she all of sudden started to cry. She said she can't help it. She has even watch the show Little People Little World but still fears them. She said she remembers when she was 4 years old and being scared of them and one time was with he Daddy in public and hid behind him. She has never been attacked or has had a bad dream about them. Once she saw a movie where one attacked it's mother but she had the fear before that.

I am a 36 year old female and have had nanosophobia for around 10 years now! i have only recently been able to put a name to this phobia, actually i didnt know anyone else suffered this phobia except me so it is a great relief to find out i am not the only one! I went to primary school with a dwarf and was friends with him so i dont understand why this phobia has started later in my adult life? All i know is that when i see a dwarf i am exteremly scared, my heart beats furiously and i feel irrational panic! I know they cant hurt me and probably wont and i also worry they will sense my fear and be offended or abuse me. I have a strong urge to run but try to control myself and just get as far away as possible with as little fuss as possible. I will then continue to feel uncomfortable and shake for hoursScared after the encounter.

I also have the same fear. I can't tell anyone because it comes off to people as prejudice and even sounds like it to me! I have come up with my own term- MicroAnthropophobia.

I am so relieved to know I am not alone with this fear. I feel horrible having this. I am not racist, and not judgemental. It's hard to explain this, i dont want to feel this this way, but I dont know what to do.It's nothing a little person has ever done, its just an irrational fear i want to go away. I panic when I see a small person, and my heart races and I have to just get away, and I feel so guilty, these are gods children too and don't deserve for anyone to react to them negativly just because of their size. I'm a work in progress on overcoming this fear. Praying I am a big enough person to overcome this.

I suffer from this fear also. My work colleagues and friends think it's hilarious. I'm terrified and can't watch anything with dwarfs in it
