Question
HI. I am 17 years old and in high school and I am taking an interest in Sports Photography. And I am wanting to know what can I do to get started. I thought about doing some freelance work this summer, while school is out. I would like to go to some sporting events this year. Like to a pro baseball game or I also have an interest in Racing as well and go down to the local track. But I am not real sure where to begin and who to sell my work to.
Thanks.

Answer
It is virtually impossible to do photo pro baseball games and sell the photos.  For starters, most stadiums won't allow you to bring in the kind of lenses you need to take those kinds of photos.  Your best bet is to find some small towns in your area (population 10,000 and under) and see if the local paper has any need for photos of local little league games.  Not sure where to sell racing photos--I'm not familiar with that.

Good luck!
