Question
I have been asked to participate in an art gallery showing for the first time.  I have a black and white image taken with a fisheye lens on 35mm film.  I have been instructed to submit an image no larger than 20x30 for the show.  I really don't know how to begin preparing for this - from quality of print to sizing and framing. Is there a primer for this?

Answer
That's a really big print to try to make from a 35mm negative.  I think I'd maybe just make a 12x18.  Your local Sams Club can do this, as can most Walmarts.  I would find one of their experienced people in the photo dept.  They do have good equipment there.  You could also find a local film lab if you live in a city of more than 100,000 people.  Ideally a full service lab would scan the print and then do some clean up work in Photoshop, but that could really cost you.  That would have to be done in a professional lab, the kind of place wedding photographers would use.

Good luck!
