Question
Hello,
My Sony DSC-828 has option for tiff files. They are supposed to better but they devour my memory stick capactity. Is the difference from jpeg so obvious in a 30X40 cm print?

Thank you

Answer
There is a difference between TiFF and JPEG. JPEG file is compressed at the expense of image quality. That being said for most purposed JPEG provide enough quality for consumer use.

Obviousness is very subjective thing. It depends on trained eye, quality of the printer and paper, etc.

On a good printer I will know the difference. My wife won't. If the printer is not high end then I probably won't note it as well.

I would suggest you take best quality JPEG, print them out and see if you are satisfied with the results.
