Is it possible to protect video images in a camcorder with a password?.
Answer When purchasing a camcorder, each manufacturer lists the capabilities of each model. Your choices are to buy a HDD and DVD camcorder or a flash memory camcorder.
The HDD and DVD camcorder has built-in hard drives ranging in capacity from 80GB to 240GB and now a days, these camcorders usually have an SD/SDHC card slot in addition to the hard drive. The SD/SDHC slot lets you increase capacity as needed and also provides an easy way to transfer video and stills from the camcorder’s hard drive. Being able to password protect the hard drive would depend on the camcorder itself if it is a function of it.
A flash memory camcorder offers the best overall image protection as they do not contain a hard drive that would require password protection. Why, you simply remove the SD, SDXC or Micro SD card depending on which camcorder you choose. Your PC software will allow you to password protect the SD card.
If you upload video or still images to the cloud, most site offer password protection.
