Question I'm in the market for my first 35 slr digital camera, and wonder if the camera stores online from the the big apple are worth dealing with or not.I'm looking at purchasing a canon 20d the savings would be about $600 as compared to buying one locally. Ijust don't need a nightmarish situation! Have you ever dealt with any of these companies? Thanks for any input!
Answer Kevin,
If it looks to good to be true, it probably is. A $600 difference is a LOT and just can't be (unless your local shop is simply trying to rip you off). Small stores are just as aware of the internet as you are and usually try and be competetive. And while they many times are beat by the internet, I've never seen a legitimate sale amount to that much. And even if you do find a site that beats your local dealer by $100 or so, I'd still suggest buying locally... for the support and expertise. If you want an idea of what a legitimate price would be, try looking at B&H. They are one of the biggest and most competetive online retailers. If someone is beating them by $600, it's gotta be a fake-out.
