Subject: Dust in zoom lens

Question
I see particles of dust inside my Albinar ADG Zoom lens. Is this a common problem? Can I take the lens apart and clean it myself?

Answer
Jeffery,

It is a common problem...  though it's not much of a problem.  It is not something you can clean yourself and is generally not worth having done professionally.  The cost of the cleaning would be more than your lens is worth.  Just ignore it.  The dust is VERY unlikely to actually show up in pictures except under some unusual lighting conditions...  if even then.

John
