About Martin Seymour
Expertise
I have worked in most aspects of still photography, using film and the wet process for 50 years. Employing all film formats 35mm to 8x10 sizes, I went over partly to digital cameras in 02, also PC editing of pictures. I still find film work more demanding , as you have to get it right at the start with no auto settings on the camera to cover my mistakes. Pictorial work is my personal interest. Its is not a good idea for me to suggest a particular make of equipment just a type, and its uses.

Question
I've downloaded PaintNet.  I would like to take a photo and lift a figure out of the photo and custom a background.  Can I do it with PaintNet?  If so, where are some directions for this software.  I've looked for a tutorial but cannot find one.  I need help.  Mary

Answer
Hi Mary.
I do not have a copy of Paintnet but i had a look on www and there was  number of tutorials available for down loading perhaps you will have to down load this help file separately from the main programme.
I assume that you have looked in the help files of Paintnet!
Generally when working with this type of software you would have to SELECT THE FIGURE BY DRAWING ROUND IT WITH THE APPROPRIATE TOOL THEN SAY COPY OR CUT! BUT THIS is A GENERALIZATION ONLY.
BUT ONE WORD OF WARNING NEVER WORK ON THE ORIGINAL PHOTO!!! ALWAYS MAKE A COPY OR SEVERAL-- THEN WORK ON THESE THUS MAKING ALL THE MISTAKES ON THE COPIES . BUT SURE YOU HAVE DONE THIS ANYWAY.
MARTIN
