AboutMalcolm Dickinson Expertise Questions about 35mm and medium format cameras, questions about developing B&W film; and questions about making B&W prints.
Experience I've been an avid photographer since 1981 and took a lot of B&W photography classes in college. I've done a lot of medium format work and have always developed & printed my own pictures.
Publications I had several photos published in college magazines and one photograph included in a juried exhibition.
Question HI Malcolm, thanks for your time.
I have a Nikon N6006 Camera Body and my friend is offering me a
high dollar Pentax lens for free, is that compatible with my Nikon,
or do you have to match up brand names?
thanks again,
Jess Moen
Answer Jess,
All cameras can only accept lenses that are designed for that particular style of camera body. Your Nikon camera body can accept Nikon lenses (as long as they were designed for that TYPE OF Nikon body).
Your camera can also accept lenses made by other manufacturers, but ONLY if they were designed to fit your type of Nikon.
My guess is that your friend's Pentax lens will NOT fit your camera, but the only way to be sure is to find out what type of camera it fit on before. If it only fits Pentax, then it won't work with yours.
