AboutMartin Seymour Expertise I have worked in most aspects of still photography, using film and the wet process for 50 years. Employing all film formats 35mm to 8x10 sizes, I went over partly to digital cameras in 02, also PC editing of pictures.
I still find film work more demanding , as you have to get it right at the start with no auto settings on the camera to cover my mistakes.
Pictorial work is my personal interest.
Its is not a good idea for me to suggest a particular make of equipment just a type, and its uses.

HI
OK Well there are so many branches of photography.
NATURE, FASHION, GEOLOGICAL, AERIAL, WEDDINGS, ANIMAL, STILL LIFE, SPORT, HISTORICAL, JOURNALISAM, OR MAY BE SOME OF EACH!
So what you have to think about is which suits you and which branch although you can change after a few years.
Personally I use all forms of camera of format and also film and digital.
In the future I think that digital will take over completely, as the quality has improved in leaps and bounds over the last few years.
The big mistake that most beginners make is they get bogged down in camera s and equipment, and think that just because a top photographer uses a particular make of camera then if you have the same one then you will automatically take top shots, NO.
It does not work like that the camera is mealy a means to an end a mechanical device.
BELEAVE ME ITS THE STUFF BETWEEN THE EARS THAT SEES AND TAKES THE PICTURE.
A good idea to brush up on you computer skills as well starting now.
