Question
Hi Sara -
I hope this is an easy one... I used to shoot with a Canon Rebel, which gave me a raw file with a .CRW extension. These files would open in "Camera Raw" within Photoshop CS...
I am now shooting with a Canon Mark II Ds that gives me a raw file with a .CR2 extension. I can open them with Canon's software but not with Photoshop. I wanted to compare the two, but can't... Is there any way to open these files in Photoshop? Will it require a Photoshop upgrade? I appreciate your help...

Thanks!!

Answer
Hi Bill,

I am not at all familiar with Canon cameras, but from the research I did, I think you need to make sure you have the latest Camera Raw plug ins from Adobe, which can be found here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html

This should fix up the problem, depending on which version of CS you have.  If this doesn't work, please let me know the versions of Camera Raw and Photoshop that you are running and I can help you troubleshoot further.  There is also a great discussion thread with helpful links at:  http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bb6a85c.3bc388f8

Good luck!

Sara
