Subject: airshow prints
Question Hey Joe I hope you can help me on this one. I recently captured a great shot of a trick plane doing a corkscrew w/the moon in the background plus many other shots, blue angels etc.. The plane in question has the pilots name on it. Can I reproduce this print ex.posters etc. w/o his permission?
Answer I'm not a lawyer.
I can't imagine why you couldn't do that, though. It was a public event, he's a public figure, and has no expectation of privacy.
I don't think you need a model release. But to be sure, try going to the pilot's website, the Blue Angel's website and see if they say anything about copyright.
