Question
Does being a photographer take up alot of your personal time?

Answer
Just like anything else in life it depends on the time you personally put in it.  If you want to run a successful business it would indeed take up much of your time.  If you were just doing it for fun, well when it stopped being fun for you, you would probably stop.
