AboutDave Nyce Expertise I have used SLR cameras for 30 years and have taught classes on photography at work for my co-workers. I had a darkroom for 20 years, but now am using mostly digital cameras. I can answer questions on equipment and techniques for photography, but am not an expert on specific model numbers of cameras or accessories.

Question Hi Dave, My cousin has some family photo's on slide film that she would like to make prints from. Can you recommend a processing source that can create prints from a transparency film? She lives in Akron Ohio. Thanks! Chris
Answer Most photoshops (like Wolf's, in my area) that make prints from negatives will also make prints from slides. There are two basic methods: one way is to make negatives from the slides, and then make prints. The other way is Cibachrome, which uses a different paper and process to make prints directly from slides. If you can find a local shop that does a process for direct prints from slides (they may or may not call it Cibachrome), then that would be better because it doesn't use the intermediate process. The direct print from slide process usually yields a sharper image.
