Technically, Electronic components viz Integrated Circuits, Transistors, Resistors, capacitors etc are susceptible to Damage
if the electronic gadgets are dipped in water. Isn't it ?.

What is the technology the electronic gadgets manufacturers are applying to manufacture water resistant electronic gadgets viz watches, mobile phones etc ?.

Are they using Special Glass coating or any other material for
waterproof ?.

Awaiting your reply,

Thanks & Regards,

Answer
Hello Prashant ...
Thanks for your question !

Actually, pure water is not very harmful to electronic components.
It will affect the the function of the circuit a bit because of the change in the surrounding di-electric constant.

Salt water or water with a high a mineralization content is very bad.

In the past, even simply measures like spraying a main circuit board with a varnish spray was
used to prevent moisture intrusion. Also, we sometimes used a putty like fill material in order to block water intrusion of any kind.

In general, it is much better to seal-off the circuitry entirely by using a water resistant housing.

Best Wishes,
