Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/C. Kurtzmann Cabinet Grand

I recently acquired a Kurtzmann upright cabinet grand that is need of a little tlc.  Most of the work is just in the cabinet restoration. I am considering restoring the piano, but Im not sure if I will get the return on investment. I have a couple of questions that might help me make that decision. First, the serial # is 16308, which is much lower than any I've seen online, so can you tell me when this one was made? Second question is once fully restored, do you think that the investment is justifiable if Im just looking at this from a resale perspective?

Hi Jason:

The piano was made in 1900.

And with respect to restoration, for every dollar you put in, you may get 10 cents back.

The only time I have restored a piano like this for a client is when the client made me understand that is was a family heirloom and money was not the issue.

The short answer is NO, it is not worth restoring for resale purposes and anyone that tells you differently...is...oh how shall I put this...terribly misinformed.

I hope that helped.
