Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/my Hobart M. Cable

I have had my piano for about 13 years. It is a Hobart M. Cable, and I no longer have room for it in my new house. I don't want to sell it, but if I did, I would have no idea what it is worth, or how old it is. The serial number is 464762. I think it is cherry wood and is in good condition, although it needs a good tuning. I am very interested in finding out more about my piano!

Hi Kaeley:

These pianos were made in LaPorte Indiana.

Story and Clark made them after 1965.

Your piano was made in 1971.

The light isn't great and it's not a close up, but if I had to guess from here it looks like Mahogany.

The worth would depend on the configuration, all things being equal.

A spinet of that age would be around 1100.00, and a console 3 or 400.00 more.

The spinet has an action that sits below the back of the keys, and the console action sit ON the back of the key.

If you want to be sure and send me a picture of the inside, I can tell you for sure.
