Question
There is a Petrov Grand piano for sale previously owned by the Czech Consul General.
The serial number is 411571 and I believe it is around 20-30 years old. It is 72 inch length
Could you tell me if this piano is an original hand made from Czech. and what you estimate the approximate value to be.
It will need some minor repairs, a major tuning and a thorough clean of the entire mechanism. One of the pedals is also broken but I am sure it can be easily repaired.
Thank you for your assistance

Answer
Hi Bruce:

The piano was made in 1984.

In perfect condition, top offering price around 6,500.00 USD.

Suggestion: before you take another step, contact a registered member of the piano technicians guild to check it out. The Czech's were not know for piano making 30 years ago and this may have hidden issues besides the broken pedal.

Go to http://www.ptg.org. There you can plug in your zip code or the zip code where the piano is. Find a registered tech who will appraise the viability of the piano first.

Let me know how you do.
