Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/memorial plaque placement

Question
Where do you place a memorial plaque on a console or spinet piano?

Answer
Hello Jan,  There are no set rules for plaque placements.  However, the most common placement consideration would be to attach the plaque in such a way that it can remain conspicuous at all times.  For instance, placing a plaque on a music rack would mean it may get covered up with sheet music.  Placing the plaque on the console where it could be hidden (like at the end of the console that faces a wall) would also be inappropriate.  The placement could also be limited by the design of the console itself.  Mouldings, reliefs, appliques and similar embellishments will need to be taken into consideration when determining an appropriate location. Therefore, the location of a plaque could vary considerably from instrument to instrument.  Wherever you place it, just make certain it is likely to remain prominently displayed.
