Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/R J Wade Peckham London Athelstan

Hi there, I noticed 2 other inquiry's for similar pianos such as mine. I've been told that it's a yachts piano and came off a yacht, so I am trying to trace where it came from and perhaps which yacht she was on. Would you know possibly any information or where I could enquire?
The ID number in the piano is: W8687

Hi Jana:

Any reference materials I have on pianos traces their manufacturing history, not their history of ownership.

There is no manufacture listed anywhere I can find by that name.

I will assume, therefore that R. J. Wade was a retailer for which pianos were made.

The hand written "serial number" is a "give away" as most manufacturers stamped the number on the piano.

I would do two things:

Take all parts of the piano off, top board, knee board, lid...anything removable in search of the manufacturer and the original serial number.

That failing, take the plate on which RJ Wade exists off the piano and look beneath...you never know.

You may want to search records of retailers of piano to see if my assessment is correct.

Let me know what you find please.
