M. Schulz pump organ
M. Schulz pump organ
Hello, I am trying to identify this pump organ that i acquired, and am having no luck. All i know is that its made by M. Schulz...Do you have any idea what model it is? Any information will help, thank you!

Answer
Hello David!  The definitive publication for identifying the hundreds of reed organ builders is Gellerman's International Reed Organ Atlas.  You can obtain a copy from your local library.  Hopefully there is a serial number somewhere inside the organ to look up. The Schultz company was in Chicago and was started in 1869 and lasted through 1930 when the depression caused them to close their doors. M. Schultz was mainly a piano builder who branched out into reed organ building as did many of the piano manufacturers.
