Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/sohmer & Co. piano

I have a Sohmer & Co. Piano sold by the Klein piano co in NY .The back of the piano has the number 40645 stamped into it.The piano is in pretty good condition but need a little touch up on the wood .It looms like a very old piano and I want to get rid of it.I would like to know if there is a chance it could be worth a significant amount of money before I just give it away.If its only worth a couple hundred I would just have a piano store just come take it.I'm not looking for a close value just if it might be worth me doing my home work on it.

Hi Marc:

I'll assume since you said "back" that this is a 45" or so vertical.

With some mathematical interpolation, the approximate manufacturing date is 1913.

By now, over 100 years later, virtually all worth is gone.

These pianos generally change hands in the neighborhood of 50.00 to 300.00. The 300.00 number would be if it were in very good condition.

Good luck and let me know if I can help further.
