Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/behr bros n company piano

I hve a behr bros n company upright piano patented in 1881. I believe the serial number is 7883. It is in good condition but coukd use some restoration and needs tuning. Id like to know the value?

Hi Nicola:

Your piano was made in New York in 1892.

As with all full verticals from this era, the value is all but gone.

If the piano is viable (playable and tunable) then normal upkeep is all the money I would invest. I would be careful about "restoration".

I think your first step is to go to http://www.ptg.org. There you can go to a "locate a technician" section, plug in your zip code and a list of certified, registered technicians will be made available.

Your first service call can be for a "tuning". From that procedure, a lot of information can be extracted about just what the piano needs and how far you can and should go.

If you hear something from the technician that you don't understand, get back to me.
