Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/1895 Kimball Upright piano

Hello, I have 1895 Kimball upright piano in my house and looking to get rid of it. Serial number 196333. I was wondering what my options are for removal. I hate the thought of throwing it in the landfill as it just takes up space in the house. Might you be able to tell how old the piano is from the serial number? Thank you for your time.

Hi Jennifer:

The piano was made in 1908.

Worth is difficult as these piano generally have age related issues.

Let's do this: go to http://www.ptg.org. There you will have an opportunity to look up a registered tech in your area. Write down the numbers of several and ask if they have clients who would like this piano.

Chances are someone will come take it. Also...be careful. Allow only a real piano mover to remove the piano from your home. Three buddies, a six pack and daddy's  pick up is a recipe for disaster!
