Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/baby grand piano

I just acquired a jesse french & sons baby grand piano, not looking to sell just out of curiousity was wondering if you could tell me what year it was built and a ballpark value of it. The lady i got it from said it was a 1930's but she didn't know the exact year. I am pretty sure the serial number is 105183.... but the second 1 looks more like an arrow instead of a 1. Please email me your reply along with replying on here. My email address is .

Hi Adam:

The serial number is correct and the manufacturing date is 1930.

As for worth, from here, at that age...it's tough.

If this piano had no work and is in original condition, it most certainly has age related problems.

I can say, that in perfect condition, it would fetch around 3500.00. However, the word "perfect" carries with it great responsibility.

If you need to be more accurate with regard to worth, then it will have to be appraised and for that you need a registered member of the Piano Technicians Guild. You can go to http://www.ptg.org and look up a registered tech in your area using your zip code.

I hope that helped.
