Question
I looking a purchase a Technics sx-G7 organ. I purchased a Technics owner manual from This organ does not have a manualsdrive.com.
On page 33 of manual the last paragraph on the pages reads as follows:
Together with the supplied SY-P2 memory pact, the optional     SY-P2, SY-P3 enable you to form library of your own favorite songs. The SY-P3 memory pack has a tone storage double that of the SY-P2.
I'm confused because it states: together with the SUPPLIED SY-P2 memory pact which I conclude comes standard with the sx-G7 organ and the is followed by: the optional SY-P2,SY-P3 ENABLE YOU TO.....
The Technics sx-G7 I am looking at does not have a per above supplies SY-P2 memory pack. How will this impact the playing of the organ and the organ functions?

Kindest regards
Dennis

Answer
Hello Dennis,  As a general rule, memory cards are intended to accomplish three basic tasks: hold commercially sampled voices, hold user created registrations, and hold end user keying and registration data (playback capabilities). If you feel you would miss any of these functions, then you might want to see if you can attain intact memory cards. The problem is, memory cards of this era typically required a battery hold-up in the form of button batteries which required frequent replacement, not because they would go dead, but because the batteries would start to leak, damaging the memory cards.  This is why finding cards may be quite difficult. However, I am not particularly versed in Technics equipment.  Therefore, I suggest you contact the music instrument technician association at http://mitatechs.org/ for further assistance.
