Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/Piano Value

Please provide the price value of Grand Baldwin Piano Model C - Year: 1993?  Is it a good piano to pursue to purchase?

ANSWER: Hi Dainam:

What we need here is a serial number first to determine the true age.

Second, it should be looked at by a registered member of the piano technicians guild. You can go to http://www.ptg.org to find a technician in your area.

Third, in excellent condition, no more than 4,500.00 USD.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

1) I have serial number.  Only 1 owner.  Should I pursue to purchase it?
2) What a RPT provide after seeing the piano?  Will a RPT know the value of the piano?  Being said that, how much is fee range for the service?

Thanks you.

Hi Dainam:

I need that serial number to verify the age.

With regard to the RPT, go to http://www.ptg.org. In the upper right hand corner you will see an area to locate a technician.

Put in the zip code where the piano is. The list is of RPS's only.

Interview several. We're looking for someone with appraisal value. I would like to see an RPT with at least 10 years experience.

They can tell you the condition and range of worth for the piano and discuss with you the possibilities of purchase.

As far as fees go, that is at the discretion of the technician. Only they can tell you.

Personally, if you were my client, an appraisal inspection would be 170.00 USD.

I hope that helped!
