Piano, Organ, and Keyboard/Webster Upright Piano

I was given from a local church about 5 years ago, a Webster Upright Piano. They were replacing it with a new one. By their history, the piano is well over 100 years old. I have a    serial # 1576. Does need tuning and a little TLC, other than that in good condition. Can you tell me any history or maybe any value, before we decide to maybe restore it?

On the lid of the Key board cover is says:
The Webster Piano Company New York

Jill King

Hi Jill:

The piano was manufactured in 1891. The company was controlled by Haines Piano.

The piano is well over a century old.

There is no restoring this piano.

If it needs more than a tuning and minor repairs to get it going, get rid of it.

For every dollar you put into the piano, you will get back less than a penny...be careful.

There are those that will tell you it's worth restoring...don't go there.

Go to http://www.ptg.org. You can look up a registered technician with a zip code look up.

If you hear something that goes counter to what I said, get back to me.
