Hello there. My wife and I have stumbled upon a Baus&Co. Upright piano. Serial number 11672. I guitar is in pretty good shape and we're curious to its age and if it had any value at all. The only thing we know at this point is that it is extremely heavy. Thank you for your time.

Hi Anthony:

This piano was made c. 1897

It is a beauty...on the outside.

Unless there was some serious work done on the inside...this is a piece of furniture and should be purchased that way.

If nothing was done on the inside, then it most certainly has age related issues...pin block, action, etc.

If you are thinking of using this as a piano...STOP

Go to http://www.ptg.org

Put in the zip code where the piano is and find a REGISTERED technician with appraisal experience.

Let me know how you do.

Oh...yes...it's heavy...LOL
