I just want to say that my family owned a R. C. Bollinger - Ft. Smith upright piano when I was a child. Ms. Gray is right. They are extremely heavy but the one we had was very well made and it had the most beautiful sound that I've ever heard in an upright piano.

It had an almost black mahogany finish and really wasn't very adorned and wasn't much to look at on the outside but in this case looks were deceiving. The sound in today's little spinet pianos doesn't even begin to compare to the beautiful full rich sound that came from that old piano! My family spent many happy hours around that old piano!
