Pilates - Pilates and ab excercises

Expert: Lynda Lippin - 3/11/2009

Question
Hi Lynda,
Could you tell/describe me some Pilates excercises to improve my lower abdominals tone and shape.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Jim

I need to start by saying that there are no "lower" and "upper" abdominals.  The abdominal muscles wrap around your torso between your pelvis and ribcage.  Many of us get larger in the lower region because of gravity and our tendency towards slouchy posture, so back and butt work is as important as hamstring work.

The best free resource for a good basic Pilates abdominal routine is

Enjoy!

Best,

Lynda
