I've been a life long exerciser, mostly running and free-weights the last 25 years. In my early forties, I completed several full marathons, with the intention of repeating. However, long story short, I had to have total hip replacement 9 months ago at the age or 47 due to a genetic malformation in my hip that led to arthritis. I'm now trying to out what I can do to get back in shape. Would pilates be a good fit for someone like me?
Thank you so much for your time!
Jennifer :)
Answer Dear Jennifer,
I have worked with many people before and after total hip replacement and they have all done wonderfully with Pilates. It is important that you start with private training, that you use the equipment, and that you see a teacher who has experience in working with hip replacements.
If you give me your city & state I can give you some referrals.
